Snow, Nutcracker and Christmas

So the coming snow storm has postponed the Nutcracker performances this weekend. We are disappointed, but since my daughter is ill, she will at least have a chance to dance when it is performed in January.

It will seem strange not having the Nutcracker to occupy a good part of my time during Christmas week. I may not have a good enough excuse to miss the 'Alvin & the Chipmunks' movie that my kids have been talking about!

I just finished making my photo calendar for 2010 and ran across some photos that helped put me in a Christmas mood.

I hope everyone has a joyful Christmas and a wonderful 2010!

Nutcracker 2009

It's almost time for this year's Nutcracker performances and the excitement is building!

I am modifying my photo coverage and this season I will be taking photos for ONLY those who request ahead of time. These can be requested by email or phone.

I am offering a variety of custom books this year starting with a high-end 6x6 book with 26 photos (one per page), the standard 8x10 book with 20 pages and the large 12.5x10 book.

I will provide book details to those interested.

Best wishes to all the girls performing and I'm sure it will be the best year so far!

Countdown to Christmas

There are 20 days until Christmas and I am in reasonably good shape! I can actually start working on my own Christmas card after having printed or soon to print more than 2,600 client cards!

There is also 14 days until the first performance of my daughter's Nutcracker. I will have some details on Nutcracker photos in the next day or so.

There is still time to schedule a last minute photo session or order photo products and gifts. I will post holiday ordering deadlines early next week.

Here are a few of my children from our card session and some fun in today's wet snow! Note the photo of me taken by my daughter. She specifically wanted me to put it here on my blog.

New

So I recently met this family and we had their session at a new beautiful spot. Thanks to my photographer friend Pat for giving them my name.

I enjoy park sessions and this family was very nice. The youngest girl was not too happy to get a photo with just the other children. I suggested that maybe they could walk together. The last photo is the result of the little one running to her parents and the others trying to keep up!

1 and 3

The ages of the two children I photographed recently. The 3 year old girl had her lip balm with her and was quite pleased to put some on for the photos! Her little brother kept up pretty well. What a photogenic family they are!

red hair and blue eyes

How wonderful is her curly red hair and his huge blue eyes!

One of the things I enjoy the most is seeing how the children grow and progress from session to session. This little girl was as charming and talkative as always. Her brother was so fast, he challenged my own quickness.

8 Day Old Beauty

I love photographing babies.!!!
It was so nice to hang out with this beautiful baby girl and her parents. She slept a little, but seemed to want to stay awake. And she didn't cry once the whole time I was there.
I felt a little nostalgic for the days when my children were babies, except they cried quite a bit!

Fun at the park

We had a little of everything at this family session. The best was the leaf fight, even the parents got in on it! The children were all adorable and I really enjoyed meeting them.
